There are a lot of you out there who are quite happy in their nine to five job, Monday to Friday, as it pays the bills and it’s easy enough to do. But there are some of you who aren’t getting what they need. Some of you like a challenge and want to throw yourselves into something big. If that sounds like you, then you may want to consider becoming an entrepreneur.
Here are all the reasons why you should take the leap and go for it.
You control your own destiny.
In the usual job, your whole dependence is on what you do, and who you do it for. You’re at the total mercy of your boss, which means if one day they decide to fire you-you’re on your own. The company you work for are the ones that determine what you do for eight hours every day. But if you work for yourself – you are your own boss. You set the working hours you want, you control what goes on and how things are completed, even what your tasks are to begin with. If you decide to take a week off because your kids have their school holiday and want to go away – you can.
You create the earnings you want.
When you’re working in a normal job, the earnings that you receive are set down in your contract and aren’t often able to be negotiated. Sure, sometimes you may be entitled to a raise or promotion, but that’s usually only with rare exceptions. Whereas when you have your own business, it’s all down to you how much you can earn. Now, of course, there is always a risk, and you may not earn anything – especially not to begin with. But it’s an exciting risk that determines on how you play the game. You may decide you want to buy a franchise, and if that’s the case, you should read up on as much as you can through sites like The Franchise King® to give you all the knowledge you need.
You can work where you want.
You get to decide where you want to work and do business. You can rent out an office if you want a professional environment to do your job in. Or you can stay in bed drinking coffee while working if you want to. Better yet, why not go on a trip somewhere nice abroad and take your work with you? The possibilities are really endless because as long as you have what you need, like your laptop and phone, there’s no reason you can’t work anywhere in the world. Just make sure you attend meetings – or arrange them over skype!
You can leave something behind.
One very rewarding benefit to owning your own business, is what you can do with it afterward. There may come a time where you no longer want to do what you’re doing anymore. Maybe you feel it’s time to retire, or maybe move on to a whole other project in a different industry. When this day comes, you get the option of handing down your baby to the ones you trust most – your family.
