Pets are great companions that bring lots of joy and happiness to families up and down the country. If you have a few pets yourself, you will already know that they can instantly fill a household with lots of love. But have you ever thought about using your pets to earn a bit of extra cash? Don’t worry; this doesn’t involve exploiting them at all. Here are some great ideas of how you can turn your pets into little cash cows!
Make Them Instafamous
There are so many cute pet photos on Instagram these days. But many pet owners are now going one step further and are actually making their own profiles for their pets. You might think that this sounds bizarre, but it is actually a really savvy idea. That’s because building up a lot of Instagram followers can attract your pet’s profile to some pet companies, who might then reach out and ask you to do sponsored posts for them. You might be surprised at how much you can earn from your pet once they are Instafamous!
Do you have some horses? One way you can start to make some extra cash with your horses or ponies is to start offering horse-riding lessons. You just need to have a big enough field or gymkhana where you can hold these lessons. It’s a good idea to look at different pole barn options if you don’t already have somewhere you can take your lessons in the event of rain. Make sure that you advertise your new horse-riding lessons well so that everyone hears about them.
Make Pet Treats
Think you know what your pets like to eat? Well, why not start making your very own pet treats and then seeing if you can sell them. This is actually a lot easier to do than what it might sound because there are now many recipes online. You just need to tweak them slightly to come up with something of your own. Start offering them to your friends to see if their pets like the treats just as much as yours do! Once you have nailed the recipe, it’s worth selling these tasty treats on a website like Etsy.
Love dogs but don’t actually have one of your own? Well, why not offer your services as a dog sitter? You could even start your own cat-sitting business if you prefer cats. But, either way, it’s worth putting up some adverts in your local shop and your local newspaper so that word can start to spread about your new business. It’s also a good idea to utilize social media to help get the word out. When you are a dog sitter, you will need to decide whether you are going to stay in your clients’ houses with their dogs while they are away, or whether you want to bring the dogs to your own home for the duration.
As you can see, there are lots of ways you can make a bit of extra cash with your pets. Which one will you go with?
