We’re always hearing about how great side-hustles are for those of us who want to earn more money without working a job we hate or those of us who’d like to earn a bit more on the side, and they are, but there are too many side-hustle ideas being bandied around that just aren’t going to be very lucrative for the vast majority of people!
Hopefully, I can change that a little by listing some side-hustle ideas that really do have the potential to be lucrative:
If you have a particular skill that is very much in demand, then you can make a lot of money as a consultant, teaching corporations how to do that skill/implement that process. If you really know your stuff, you can literally charge hundreds of dollars per hour, and corporations will willingly pay it. It’s just a matter of working out which skills you have that they’ll want, but if you can do that, you’re on to a winner.
Mobile Computer Repair
If you have good IT skills and you know your way around various devices, offering your services as a mobile computer repair operative could see you much richer this time next year. Most of us now have computers and other devices, and quite often they go wrong, so there is always a demand for people who can fix them at a competitive rate. Taking this kid of side-hustle mobile just helps you to add a little extra and stand out from the other repair companies in your area.
Buying and Selling Antiques
This is a very good way to make lots of money on the side, but it’s also a very easy way to lose money too. If you have a keen interest in antiques, a good eye for them and you’re in a location that regularly holds antique fairs and where there are lots of thrift stores, you could make a killing by buying low and selling high at auction houses or even on eBay. Just make sure you do know what you’re doing.
Become an Uber Driver
Driving for Uber or similar companies like Lyft doesn’t sound lucrative at first glance, but it’s all about how much you work, which areas you work and how committed you are to the job. If you work hard and you choose your available times wisely, you can make a decent amount driving people around in your spare time.
Becoming an Airbnb Host
If you own your own property and you have one or spare rooms doing nothing, or if you spend quite a lot of time away from home, you could make thousands of dollars every year by listing your place for rent on Airbnb. To really make the big bucks, your home will have to be pretty special, or in a very popular location, but even if it isn’t you can do pretty well.
If it’s serious side-hustles you’re after, the above offerings are a good place to start, but if you have any better ideas, please do share them.
